The Zorluteks Home Textile Collection Selection Project Connected Students with the Industry

The project titled "Zorluteks Home Textile Collection Selection," carried out as part of the Home Textile Design course within the Fashion Design Program, provided an important opportunity for students to connect their academic knowledge with industry dynamics. Throughout the 14-week course, students experienced the processes of collection development, concept creation, and making design decisions suitable for industrial production through a comprehensive approach.

During the final stage of the course, Zorluteks, one of the leading companies in the home textile industry, visited the university to review the students' designs in person. This meeting gave students the opportunity to present their designs directly to industry professionals and receive feedback.

The main theme of the project was defined as "The Silent Codes of Civilization." Students created original collections by reinterpreting symbols and cultural motifs from Anatolia that are at risk of being forgotten through a contemporary design language.

Following the jury's evaluations, two bedroom set designs were slcted for production. In addition, certificates of achievement were presented to the students who ranked among the top entries.

This project demonstrated the educational value of university-industry collaboration while serving as an important source of experience and inspiration for students in their professional journeys.
