Istanbul Nişantaşı University’s Technology Transfer Office (TTO), in collaboration with the Aircraft Technology Program at the Vocational School and the Technology Transfer Club, organized a “Guest Speaker in the Classroom” event, bringing students together with industry professionals.
The event, titled “B1.1 Maintenance Certification in Aviation: A Technical Career and Practical Insights Talk,” featured Batuhan Cüce, an SHGM/EASA B1.1 Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Technician and Electrical and Electronics Engineer.
The event aimed to provide students with a detailed understanding of the scope of the SHGM/EASA B1.1 license, introduce them to maintenance practices involving electrical and electronic systems, and offer reliable information about career pathways in licensed aircraft maintenance. It also sought to raise students’ awareness of maintenance authorization procedures and help them develop their own professional development plans within the aviation industry.
Guest speaker Batuhan Cüce provided detailed insights into the maintenance procedures for mechanical and electrical systems covered by the B1.1 license, the impact of EASA/SHGM regulations on maintenance technicians’ professional practices, apron and hangar work discipline, task card interpretation, and critical considerations within the authorization system. The event took an interactive format as students asked questions about the licensing process, technical responsibilities, task card procedures, and maintenance documentation practices.
The event was organized jointly by the Technology Transfer Office, the Aircraft Technology Program at the Vocational School, and the Technology Transfer Club. Planning and implementation were coordinated by Muhammed Emin Özmen, Director of the Technology Transfer Office.
