Web design and coding is not just about producing websites or making visual designs; it is about developing dynamic systems that form the digital infrastructure of the modern world, managing data flow, and producing innovative software solutions that make life easier. This field is a special, constantly developing and renewing working area that directly contributes to both the global economy and individual creativity. Our program aims to train you as professionals who possess the equipment and vision to guide this technological transformation.
Your education process will be supported by applied learning methods, going beyond the traditional classroom environment. In our laboratories, you will design modern web interfaces, work on dynamic software architectures, and get to know database management systems and current frameworks closely. Theoretical knowledge will be reinforced with project studies and computer laboratory applications, thus alowing you to gain the practical skills needed in the sector.
Our curriculum has been designed considering the technical problems you may encounter in the software world and current industry standards. In addition to expert academicians in their fields, you will also take courses from senior software engineers and interface designers actively working in the sector, thus having the opportunity to directly access both academic knowledge and current industrial experiences.
Within the scope of the program, you will not be limited to classes but will also participate in various IT summits, hackathons, project fairs, career days, and technology company visits whr you can communicate directly with sector representatives. These events enable our students to both follow current technologies and closely observe internship and job opportunities.
The Web Design and Coding Program aims not only to impart technical knowledge to our students but also to equip them with innovative thinking, an analytical problem-solving approach, and the habit of continuous learning.

About the Program
The Istanbul Nişantaşı University Web Design and Coding Program aims to train qualified technical personnel in the field of informatics and software, bringing in graduates who possess the knowledge and skills needed by the rapidly growing digital world and software industry. The program offers a comprehensive educational process that not only imparts theoretical knowledge to students but also ensures they grow as individuals capable of analytical thinking, with high algorithmic problem-solving ability, questioning, innovative, and with developed practical skills. Candidates interested in the program are expected to have high logical and mathematical thinking skills, a developed sense of visual design, be prone to teamwork, able to adapt to constantly changing software languages, careful, patient, and committed to professional ethical values.
The education program provides students with competence in fundamental areas such as algorithm logic, programming basics, web interface design, object-oriented programming, data structures, and database management systems. In addition, current and visionary topics such as internet programming, software testing and quality assurance, machine learning, search engine optimization (SEO), web analytics, and cyber security are also included in the curriculum.
Students gain practical experience in the use of coding editors and integrated development environments (IDE), efficient code architecture design, error detection (debugging), system integration, and the deployment of web applications. The program supports theoretical knowledge with computer laboratory studies, project-based learning methods, and the Sectoral Experience Acquisition Program (STEP) included in the final semester, ensuring that graduates are fully equipped and ready for the sector.
The Web Design and Coding Program is geared towards a professional field that offers working opportunities in a wide range of areas such as software houses, e-commerce platforms, digital advertising agencies, IT departments of corporate companies, data analytics centers, and start-up projects. The curriculum is constantly updated taking into account the needs of the IT sector and aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills to compete in both the Turkish and international markets.
Thanks to the elective courses offered in the program, students have the opportunity to specialize in areas such as image processing, digital game programming, and operating systems. In addition, they can enrich their academic equipment in different informatics and design fields with Double Major (ÇAP) and Minor programs.
Web design and coding technologies constitute an innovative, dynamic, and constantly open-to-improvement field. Our program aims to make our students sought-after professionals in the industry by developing both their technical skills and lifelong learning habits.

The program is committed to ensuring that its graduates become successful and sought-after individuals in both the local and global IT sectors through a modern educational curriculum, laboratory applications, project studies, and sector collaborations in accordance with national and international software industry standards.

Working Areas
Web and Mobile Application Development Companies: They can work as full-stack web developers, front-end developers, or back-end developers.
Software and Technology Firms: They can work as experts in teams producing object-oriented software solutions with current languages such as C#, Java, .NET, and PHP.
Data Analysis and Artificial Intelligence Departments: They can work as data analysts or entry-level AI/computer vision specialists by utilizing machine learning, database management, and image processing infrastructures.
Software Testing and Quality Assurance (QA) Units: They can take on roles as test engineers or QA specialists in error detection, quality control, and the execution of automatic/manual test scenarios during software development processes.

About the Courses
The Istanbul Nişantaşı University Web Design and Coding Program implements a comprehensive curriculum that offers students theoretical knowledge, strong algorithm logic, and technological innovations together in the field of software and web technologies throughout their two-year associate degree education. Alongside basic coding knowledge, the program aims for students to reach equipment that has a direct counterpart in the sector in areas such as object-oriented systems, data structures, artificial intelligence applications, and software quality.
Throughout the education process, students gain competencies in building algorithms and optimizing data structures, designing modern web interfaces (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), and effectively using server-side web programming languages and database management systems (SQL and its variants). Technical skills such as being able to construct the architecture of web-based systems, manage optimization (SEO) processes suitable for search engines, and implement secure coding practices are developed.
In addition, while maximizing their problem-solving and logical thinking abilities, students gain an application-oriented work discipline that not only uses technology but also directs it. Subjects such as software testing and quality assurance, introduction to cyber security, occupational health and safety, and entrepreneurship form an important part of the program in terms of preparation for professional business life and corporate software teams. With the Sectoral Experience Acquisition Program (STEP) and applied elective courses included in the final semester, students reinforce their theoretical knowledge with real projects and find the opportunity to specialize in specific areas that interest them, such as image processing or game programming.
All these courses are structured to develop students' academic knowledge, technical competence, and software development skills holisticaly. Each semester of the curriculum is designed with contents that reinforce the achievements of the previous semester and turn students into professional software developers step by step. Thus, graduates are perfectly prepared for professional life as competent, solution-producing, and sought-after professionals in both the local and global software sectors.
Program Outcomes
PO1: The student communicates oraly and in writing in a foreign language at a basic level (A2) in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR); explains simple texts related to their field and uses them at a functional level.
PO2: The student uses the Turkish language correctly and effectively; develops a contemporary, democratic, and socialy sensitive perspective by having basic knowledge about Atatürk's principles and the history of the revolution.
PO3: Creates bug reports by applying software testing and quality assurance principles and analyzes basic processes at the operating system level.
PO4: Produces meaningful models and computer vision solutions from visual and numerical data by using machine learning and image processing technologies.
PO5: Solves analytical problems by using mathematical thinking and numerical logic skills.
PO6: Analyzes data structures and database management systems, manages data effectively and securely.
PO7: Solves complex problems and develops software applications using basic computer science concepts and current programming languages (C#, Java, .NET, PHP, etc.).
PO8: Makes decisions in accordance with professional ethical rules and reflects their social and environmental responsibilities in their actions.
PO9: Communicates effectively in intra-disciplinary teams, takes responsibility, and works collaboratively.
PO10: Defines, explains, and uses commonly used concepts in web design in applications.
PO11: Analyzes professional problems using algorithmic thinking skills and produces appropriate solutions.
PO12: Follows, evaluates innovations in the field using their basic knowledge and proposes ways to develop them.
PO13: By applying basic cyber security principles, develops secure web interfaces with interaction design principles that improve user experience (UX) and responsive design techniques compatible with different devices.
Program Educational Objectives
PEO1: To train experts who can develop web applications and websites using basic programming, object-oriented programming, and database management systems.
PEO2: To provide technical employees who can produce modern, dynamic, and user-oriented web projects with the skills acquired in web programming, internet programming, and interface design courses.
PEO3: To bring in qualified software developers who can directly apply machine learning, image processing, and cyber security technologies, which are the main focuses of the curriculum, to web projects.
PEO4: This program aims to train individuals who are sensitive to environmental sustainability principles, conscious about reducing carbon footprint, attach importance to quality standards, and have a developed sense of social responsibility. It is aimed that our students act as environmentaly sensitive, responsible, and conscious citizens in both their individual lives and professional practices.
