By joining the Istanbul Nişantaşı University Marina and Yacht Management Program, you have taken an important step towards becoming an expert professional in the maritime and tourism sector. We are highly pleased to see you among us. Your university life will be shaped by a new city, new friendships, different cultural environments, and rich experiences related to your profession. Most importantly, you are laying the foundations of a profession here that you will do with passion and sustain for a lifetime.

Marina and yacht management is not just about managing maritime activities; it is about developing marine tourism, strengthening interaction between different cultures, and introducing our country's unique coastal values to the world. This field is a special sector economicaly and culturaly that directly touches the lives of both the operator and the guests it serves. Our program aims to train you as professionals with the equipment and vision to fulfill this important mission.

Your education process is supported by applied learning methods beyond the traditional classroom environment. You will have the opportunity to learn by observing Istanbul's coastal areas, marinas, yacht harbors, and enterprises related to marine tourism on-site. With the awareness that the sector is best learned through practice, our courses are planned to blend theory and practice in a balanced way.

Our curriculum is designed considering the situations you may encounter in your professional life. In addition to expert academicians, you will take courses from marina managers and maritime professionals actively working in the sector, thus having the opportunity to directly access both academic knowledge and current sectoral experiences.

Within the scope of the program, you will not be limited to classes but will also participate in various events whr you can interact directly with sector representatives. The Marine Tourism Panels, Career Days, and Marina Management Workshops held every year alow our students to meet leading figures in the field, follow current developments, and closely learn about internship and job opportunities. In these events, our students take an active role not only as listeners but sometimes as session moderators or speakers.

Our campus is located in Kağıthane, which holds an important place in Istanbul's cultural and economic memory. Preserving its historical identity, this region offers our students a privileged learning environment with its proximity to marine tourism and transportation networks.

The Marina and Yacht Management Program aims not only to impart professional knowledge and skills but also to support the personal development of our students. Throughout the education process, the opportunity to meet different cultures, develop communication competencies, recognize international cooperation environments, and look at the world from a broad perspective is offered.

About the Program

The Istanbul Nişantaşı University Marina and Yacht Management Program aims to train qualified professionals in the field of maritime and yacht tourism. The program offers a comprehensive educational process that not only imparts sectoral knowledge to students but also ensures they become individuals who can think analyticaly, are solution-oriented, innovative, and have high leadership potential.

Candidates who will join the program are expected to have developed foreign language and communication skills, be prone to teamwork, have no travel restrictions, attach importance to customer satisfaction, adopt maritime culture, and adhere to professional ethical values.

The education program gives its students a broad perspective with courses such as yacht tourism, marina management, marine tourism, cruise ship and port management, sailing, maritime law, international maritime transportation, yacht sale and purchase and charter management, maritime security, and service management. It also provides the ability to communicate effectively with different stakeholders of the sector (marinas, yacht charter companies, tourism agencies, cruise operations, and port services).

Students reach an analytical and applied competence by learning marine tourism destinations, yacht types, maritime terminology, sectoral legislation, and management standards. The program is structured to train cultured, contemporary, multilingual professionals who can use technology effectively, as needed by the maritime and yacht management sector.

In addition to a rich curriculum, a second foreign language education besides English and elective vocational courses develop both students' theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Field studies organized during the education, visits to marinas and yacht enterprises, seminars by sector representatives, and compulsory internships enable students to get to know the business world closely.

The rapidly growing yacht tourism sector offers opportunities for students to constantly develop themselves both personaly and professionaly. With various elective courses offered in the second year, students are supported to specialize in line with their interests and career goals. In addition, they are enabled to enrich their academic equipment in different disciplines with Double Major (ÇAP) and Minor opportunities.

Mission of the Program

The Marina and Yacht Management Program aims to train professionals who prioritize safety, can perform accurate and effective management, focus on customer satisfaction, and comply with global standards by endowing students with the knowledge, skills, and ethical values required by the maritime and yacht tourism sector. The program has undertaken the duty of enabling its graduates to become successful individuals in national and international arenas through field applications, foreign language support, and sector collaborations.

PO1: Understands the basic structure of marine tourism, marina and yacht management, its operational process, and its contribution to the national economy.

PO2: Has knowledge of a foreign language at a level to follow developments in the maritime and marina sector and communicate with colleagues.

PO3: Has knowledge about maritime legislation, international maritime transportation rules, and legal regulations related to yacht management.

PO4: Knows the planning, implementation, and evaluation processes that will ensure customer relations, service quality, and visitor satisfaction in marina enterprises.

PO5: Acts in line with the principles of maritime security, environmental protection, and sustainable tourism.

PO6: Has knowledge about technical equipment, operational processes, and maintenance-repair services used in yacht and marina management.

PO7: Effectively applies management, finance, marketing, and human resources processes in marine tourism and marina management.

PO8: Has the ability to recognize, understand, and communicate effectively with different maritime cultures.

PO9: Can analyze sectoral opportunities and threats by evaluating the national and international dimensions of yacht tourism.

PO10: Knows and applies occupational safety, emergency management, and crisis management practices within the scope of marine tourism.

PO11: Develops awareness for the protection of the marine ecosystem and acts sensitively regarding environmental sustainability.

PO12: Can follow and apply digital transformation, smart port systems, and technological innovations in marina and yacht management.

PO13: Serves as an individual who complies with professional ethical principles, is prone to teamwork, and possesses leadership qualities.

Program Educational Objectives

PEO1: To train qualified individuals who learn the basic concepts, principles, and practices specific to marina and yacht management; and can effectively use their professional knowledge and skills in yacht tourism and marina enterprises.

PEO2: To train individuals who have knowledge about marine tourism in Turkey and the world, follow current developments in the sector, and adopt a lifelong learning approach.

PEO3: To train professionals who are conscious of national and international standards, legislation, and ethical principles within the scope of maritime and marina management; and act with a sense of responsibility within this framework.

PEO4: To train individuals who adopt customer satisfaction, service quality, sustainability, and security standards in marina and yacht management.

PEO5: To train professionals with the management, organization, and communication skills required by the marine tourism sector in a globaly competitive environment.
